 Potassium alum, also known as potassium aluminum sulfate, is a versatile chemical compound with a variety of applications. Its most common synonyms include rock alum, alunite, and kalinite.
 Two key properties
 This natural compound has two fundamental properties:
 - Antiseptic: effective against bacteria and germs
 - Deodorant/Antiperspirant: reduces sweating and bad odors
 Cosmetic applications
 Thanks to its antibacterial properties, potassium alum is used:
 - As a solid underarm deodorant to reduce sweating and bad odors
 - In preparations to reduce foot sweating and bad odors
 - In post-shave products for its haemostatic and astringent properties

 Potassium alum can also be used:
 - As an odor absorber in the refrigerator
 - In restoration for the preparation of glues, plasters and fireproof paints
 - As a color fixative in fabric dyeing
 Use as a fixative
 To fix the pigments and prevent the lime paint from flaking, you can prepare a solution by dissolving 150 grams of alum in 5 liters of water. For very porous surfaces, use rock alum diluted in water (50 g per liter of water) and apply an even coat, letting it dry.
