Since 1988, we have been passionately explaining and teaching mosaic art to professionals and creative individuals.
Our shop and school are located in Rome. Here, we promote and spread the art of mosaic by offering all the necessary tools for laboratories, workshops, mosaic courses, and professional training programmes.
Tiffany technique
It takes its name from its creator, Louis Comfort Tiffany, who had the brilliant idea of replacing lead with a thin sheet of copper, edging each tile and joining them together with tin solder. This method gives the panels superior lightness, both in terms of weight and aesthetics. It also makes it possible to create charming Tiffany lamps as furnishing accessories, using the tangential assembly of glass tiles.
Vetrofusione
Glass fusing is an ancient technique that involves melting glass, or remelting it, to create decorative or artistic objects. This technique allows bubbles and other aesthetic effects to be created in the glass through precise control of the temperature and firing time. Today, with the help of more advanced kilns, unique decorative objects are created by exploiting the metamorphosis of the material. By combining layers of glass, glass tiles and powders, works of art are created without having to reach kiln temperatures, remaining at around 900 degrees, thus expanding the possibilities in design.
Lead binding
Lead binding is a technique used in artistic glasswork to join pieces of coloured glass. This technique involves the use of lead profiles that outline the edges of the glass pieces, creating a solid and decorative structure. In addition to ensuring stability, lead binding allows you to play with light, creating beautiful reflections and colours. It is an art that requires precision and creativity, resulting in unique and fascinating works.
Dalle de verre
Dalles de Verre, or ‘glass tiles’ in French, is a fascinating technique devised by artist Jean Gaudin and used to create artistic stained glass windows. This technique uses thick glass tiles, cast in moulds, to create extraordinary works of art. The tiles are cut and shaped with precision, often using a widia hammer, to create complex shapes and details that capture light in unique ways. High-fire grisaille
Grisaille painting is a technique that combines painting with artistic glasswork. Thanks to high-temperature firing, we have the opportunity to use a unique tool: light. This technique enriches the glass, enhancing its beauty and depth, making each creation truly unique. It is widely used to make sacred subjects in churches more vivid and realistic, bringing a spiritual and artistic dimension to the works.
