Lo scapezzatore o scapezzino, è un utensile tozzo e volutamente poco preciso. Largamente utilizzato pour staccare ampie porzioni di pietra dai bordi dei caminetti, o pour creare la tipica supourficie a scorza irregolare. Viene impiegato anche su il ciglio. Non richiede una grande manualità và colpito decisamente dall'alto, dato il profilo della lama inclinato stacca via agevolmente fino a 10 cm. di spessore.

The Hand steel pitcher is a squat and deliberately imprecise tool. Widely used to detach large portions of stone from the edges of fireplaces, or to create the typical irregular surface. It is also used on the eyelash. It does not require great manual skill and must be struck decisively from above, given the inclined blade profile it easily detaches up to 10 cm. thick.
